Two counties in northern California have submitted a petition for the right to form a 51st State of America, which they want to name Jefferson. They claim a lack of representation and that their grievances aren’t heard at state level.
Hundreds of Northern Californians petitioned in support of what would be America’s 51st state, “Jefferson.”
We are people North of the Central Valley of California and South of the State of Washington wishing to be better represented in our State Legislatures by carving out a more representative area and making it the 51st State of The Union.
We share a sense of isolation within our respective State Legislatures that is reflective in poorly funded educational access, industry, infrastructure repair, and the universal constitutional values that include but aren’t limited to the 2nd Amendment.
We are angered by the high gasoline taxes that don’t reflect a return in our areas that are equal to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
We are angered by the foot dragging on the J Levy project promised decades ago.
We are angered by the poor water management.
We are Rural Communities who wish to keep the values of a Rural Life without the mindset of Big City Government and all the baggage they impose upon us.
We are angered by Mass Transit programs that ignore this part of the State.
If you fall in that Category then chances are you are a Jeffersonian.
